Since 2002, a new system of technical regulation has been created in Russia, which in many ways resembles the two-level European model. It is based on technical regulations which are actual laws and specify main safety requirements to any product. Standards and regulations shall become an evidentiary foundation for these laws. Since 2010, this model has been created within the Customs Union.
Technical regulation system is designed to secure product safety when it goes to markets. Creation of this system is only possible with close cooperation of state, business and society.
The RSPP Committee for technical regulation, standardization and conformity assessment has more than 2,000 experts from companies and organizations of all industries, is one of the most reputable platforms and ensures the active involvement of business in the reform of technical regulation. Over the years, our Committee represents a consolidated view of the industrial community on technical regulation, standardization and conformity assessment.
During the formation of a unified system of technical regulation of the Customs Union the RSPP Committee managed to unite for joint work on technical regulations of Customs Union not only Russian exeperts, but also representatives of industry of Belarus and Kazakhstan, to establish effective interaction with international organizations working in the sphere of technical regulation ".
